Regarding misleading interpretations circulating in the public sphere

In response to various interpretations that have appeared in the public sphere regarding the application of the Law on Assisted Reproduction following the ruling of the Constitutional Court, we would like to clarify that some of these interpretations may mislead the public.

According to the explanation provided by the Ministry’s legal experts, until amendments to the Law on Assisted Reproduction are adopted, individuals who have already begun assisted reproduction procedures will be able to continue them. New patients will be able to begin such procedures once the legislative amendments defining the scope of persons eligible for assisted reproduction are adopted.

We emphasize that claims suggesting the Ministry of Health is suspending assisted reproduction services are false. This situation is directly related to compliance with existing legal regulations.

In a state governed by the rule of law, all citizens and institutions are required to comply with the legal framework currently in force. Therefore, public statements claiming that the Ministry should have instructed institutions on how to comply with the law are unfounded. Every entity in the country is obliged to follow the applicable legal regulations directly, without the need for additional instructions.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health understands that this issue is highly sensitive and that the current situation is important. Therefore, the Ministry remains ready at all times to provide consultations and assistance if there are any uncertainties regarding the applicable legal framework.
