Changes in the Leadership of the Ministry of Health

Due to political changes in the ruling coalition and the transition from the 19th to the 20th Government, there are also changes in the political leadership team of the Ministry of Health.

As of September 26, 2025, Skirmantas Krunkaitis starts his duties as Vice-Minister of Health.

Skirmantas Krunkaitis graduated in medical sciences from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (as a physician) and Vilnius University (as a family medicine doctor). He also holds the rank of lieutenant from Dr. J. Basanavičius Military Medical Service.

Since January 13, 2025, S. Krunkaitis has served as an advisor to the Minister of Health, responsible for strengthening the healthcare system’s resilience to emergencies and special civil events, as well as hybrid and military threats.

The Ministry of Health also announces that as of September 26, Vice-Minister Jelena Čelutkienė has stepped down from her position following the end of her term.

Minister of Health Marija Jakubauskienė sincerely thanks J. Čelutkienė for her efforts and contributions to the work of the 19th Government.
