Curriculum Vitae

Linas Kukuraitis graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at Vilnius University with a focus on social sciences, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work.
The Minister of Health has more than 30 years of experience in community and social work, closely related to public health, addiction, and the well-being of vulnerable groups. For more than 10 years, he led Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vilnius, and prior to that, he founded and directed the St. George Matulaitis Social Center in Vilnius, where he made significant contributions to the development of the center’s various community, preventive, and social services, which continue to be provided to this day.
L. Kukuraitis taught at Vilnius University for a decade, where he supervised internships for undergraduate and graduate students and developed and implemented models and methodologies for social services and the integration of vulnerable groups. He also spent 17 years conducting training sessions for representatives of the business, public, and non-governmental organization (NGO) sectors; served on the Lithuanian Social Work Council, the Vilnius NGO Council, and the Lithuanian Caritas Council; and represented Lithuania at international plenary sessions and conferences.
The minister has extensive experience in public administration and in shaping social and health policies: In the 17th Government, he served as Minister of Social Security and Labor, and during the 13th term of the Seimas, he served as Vice Chair of the Seimas Committee on Social Affairs and Labor and as a member of the Commissions on Addiction Prevention and on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. During the 14th term of the Seimas, he chaired the Seimas Committee on Social Affairs and Labor, served on the Commission on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and is a member of the Commission on Youth, Social Affairs, and Sports.
He speaks English, German, and Russian.
