Aušra Želvienė.jpgAušra Želvienė, the Minister’s Advisor on Public Health Issues, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vilnius University, a Master’s degree in Psychology from Mykolas Romeris University, and a Ph.D. in Public Health within the field of Biomedical Sciences from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. 

The advisor has more than 15 years of experience in the field of public health. Having joined the Institute of Hygiene in 2006, A. Želvienė has participated in various national and international projects related to health monitoring and health sector process management. She managed the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Division at the Institute of Hygiene, and later the Biostatistical Analysis Division.  

Since 2021, Dr. A. Želvienė has served as a senior specialist in the Monitoring and Analysis Division of the Department of Drugs, Tobacco, and Alcohol Control, and in 2022 she was appointed head of the Prevention Coordination Division. She has also served as a consultant to the World Health Organization. 

Advisor to the Minister A. Želvienė is fluent in English and Russian.
