EU Health Award for NGOs fighting Ebola is launched!

The European Commission is proud to present its new EU Health Award, which this year will call for applications from non-governmental bodies that were at the forefront of the fight against Ebola.

Prizes for the winners are as follows:

• 1st prize - 20 000 €
• 2nd prize - 15 000 €
• 3rd prize - 10 000 €

International, European, national and regional non-governmental bodies legally registered in the EU Member States or another country participating in the 3rd Health Programme are eligible.

The areas on which the call will focus are the following:

Initiatives that benefitted the health of EU citizens and the EU health workforce(including training, communication activities, preparedness and response, etc.).
Initiatives that worked towards the detection, control and/or elimination of the disease in the emergency area. These could serve to enhance EU preparedness and response due to their transferability in case of an outbreak or any serious health threat in the EU/EEA territory.
