Norwegian financial mechanism 2009–2014 Programme “Public Health Initiatives” launch event
On 20 June 2013 Norwegian financial mechanism 2009–2014 Programme “Public Health Initiatives” launch event took place in Vilnius. The Programme agreement was signed on 16 April 2013 and Programme implementation agreement was made on 3 June 2013.
Public health experts, local government doctors and other specialists working in the area of health improvement and disease prevention participated in the event organized by the Ministry of Health. The Ambassador of Norway to Lithuania Leif Arne Ulland greeted the participants. The Ambassador expressed his joy about the fact that by contributing to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area the Norwegian Financial Mechanism actively supports public health related initiatives at the same time seeking to improve health care services in Lithuania.
The key Programme objectives, planned projects, requirements set for them, the project evaluation process and possibilities for the use of the Fund for bilateral relations in the search for partners were presented during the event. Presentations were made by the Head of International Project Management Division of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania V. Ambrazevičienė, CPMA representative E. Platukytė, and the Head of the Public Health Safety Division of the Public Health Department Dr. R. Sketerskienė.
