International conference "Working together for health equity"
The International conference will be held on November 27, 2014 in the Office of the Government of Republic of Lithuania (Gedimino avenue 11, Vilnius, Lithuania).
The one-day international conference organised by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithaunia and the WHO Regional Office for Europe will discuss and present past, current and future efforts enhancing health equity.
The aim of the Conference is to present the scope of social inequalities in health, analyse available experience in the field and strengthen intersectoral cooperation as well as engagement of other social partners in actions for reducing health inequalities.
The conference will gather participants from all government sectors, speakers from countries with good practice in reducing health inequities, as well as experts from the WHO European Office to discuss the various causes, correlations and implications linked with health inequality, including social and economic factors. National experts will recap on their experiences from implementing national health programme and strategies, as well as discuss examples of both cross-sectoral and international partnerships in the field.
Participants from all government sectors and speakers from countries with good experience in reducing health inequalities as well as WHO/EURO Office and guests from other countries implementing EEA/Norwegian financial mechanism 2009-2014 public health programmes in field of health inequalities are expected.
The Conference is organized in collaboration with WHO EURO.
