The EEA Grants and Norway Grants represent Iceland’s, Liechtenstein’s and Norway’s contribution to reducing social and economic disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and strengthening bilateral relations with 15 EU countries in Central–Southern Europe and Baltic States.

The investment of 117.6 million EUR was allocated to Lithuania for the implementation of 8 programs:
1. Health
2. Social dialogue / decent work
3. Business development, innovation and Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
4. Research
5. Civil society
6. Justice and home affairs
7. Culture
8. Environment, energy, climate change.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania (MoH) together with the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania are actively involved in and contribute to the development and implementation of the Health Programme as Programme Partners.

The main objective of the Health Programme is to provide support for the mental health promotion and disease prevention, focusing on the well-being of children, youth, and their families. MoH works on the 5 Health Programme measures:
1. Health Offices in Preschools and Schools Equipped with Methodological Tools
2. Adjustment and Coordination of Youth-friendly Health Care Services Provision Model at National Level 
3. Adaptation and Implementation of the Incredible Years Programme in Lithuania
4. Development and implementation of the Well-being Advisers model 
5. Development and Implementation of Home Visitation Early Intervention Model

All these measures are aimed to:
a) increase access to free, confidential services for young people addressing social, psychological or other health issues;
b) help children with behavioural issues and their parents;
c) help women during pregnancy and after childbirth;
d) improve the provision of preventive health services for children and youth;
e) develop effective emotional counselling services for people experiencing the first signs of depression and anxiety.
