Jelena Čelutkienė.jpgVice-Minister Jelena Čelutkienė graduated in medicine from Vilnius University, completing a residency in general therapy and cardiology. She holds a PhD in biomedical sciences, has had numerous additional internships in Lithuania and abroad, and has led or participated in dozens of biomedical research and project activities. 

For almost two decades, J. Čelutkienė worked as an academic at the Clinic of Cardiac and Vascular Diseases of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University, also was a senior researcher at the Institute of Innovative Medicine, and was a professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine of Vilnius University. She continues to work as a senior researcher at the Clinic of Cardiac and Vascular Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University.

Her career as a cardiologist at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics lasted for more than three decades, and from 2022 to 2023, she was also the temporary head of the Cardiovascular Centre at Šiauliai Republic Hospital.

J. Čelutkienė is a member of the European and Lithuanian Cardiological Societies, served as President of the Lithuanian Society of Cardiology from 2020 to 2023, and was a board member of the European Heart Failure Association from 2016 to 2020.
