The hot line will be enhanced by a team of doctors

The patients whose coronavirus (COVID-19) tests were taken at mobile points will be informed and consulted by a team of doctors on Hotline 1808. This procedure will ensure that infected patients will learn their diagnosis more quickly. It will also allow doctors to immediately assess information about the patient's condition according to their symptoms and decide on their future treatment.

The decision to increase the capacity of the Hotline was signed yesterday by Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga, Head of State-Level Emergency Operations. According to him, this solution will avoid delays in providing the results of the tests.

“Mobile stations themselves are a completely new structure, we have never had them in Lithuania. It takes very little time to set out the conditions in which they have to work and to think through all the details, so problems are inevitable. The whole world is probably facing similar challenges. So I am pleased that we have found a solution to the problem of reporting positive results. The team of doctors will not only inform patients of the results of their tests if they are infected, but will also make sure that their medical condition allows them to stay at home according to the algorithm provided, or vice versa - they need professional medical attention,” says Minister Veryga.

Negative results will be reported to the people tested at the mobile points by SMS. Due to high demand, it may take several days to receive the information. It is important that despite all, everyone remains in isolation to protect their own health and that of others.

Ministry of Health reminds that as of today, mobile checkpoints are located in all ten municipalities - in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Marijampolė, Tauragė, Telšiai, Alytus and Utena. Arrival at the checkpoint is by car only, registration for the 1808 survey will only take place on the day of the survey, which means the registration for the next day will not be possible.
