A new list of affected countries compiled against the ‘traffic light’ principle came to effect on Monday, November 2.  More European countries and regions have found themselves in the red and grey areas that are subject to the requirements for mandatory isolation or testing for coronavirus (COVID-19): Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Sweden, all the Italian regions, the Danish regions of Hovedstaden and Nordjylland.

Isolation and testing will not be required on arrivals from Latvia, Norway and Finland and from Canaries.

Maps drawn up by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) against the ‘traffic light’ principle are available HERE.

Depending on the rate of notifications and other criteria, all the countries are mapped against the four colour principle: green, orange, red and grey. The grey group includes countries with insufficient information to assess the mentioned criteria or with the 7-day testing rate lower than 300 cases per 100 000.

Lithuania lists countries in the red and grey areas as affected. Travellers returning from or transiting these countries will be deemed to have been in contact and thus subject to 10-day isolation or required to evidence the test for COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) taken at maximum 48 hours before the entry to Lithuania with a negative result thereof.

These requirements will not be applicable in the case of those travelling by air when not leaving the airport transit area.

Travellers by regular, special and charter flights of all modes of transport organised and operated by carriers, are required to register on the website of the National Public Health Centre under the Ministry of Health: https://keleiviams.nvsc.lt/lt/form and present the confirmation of the completed electronic form (QR code) to the carrier before boarding the vehicle, and in other cases - they are required to register with the National Public Health Centre within 12 hours of returning / arriving in the Republic of Lithuania.

The Ministry of Health notes that the list of countries affected by coronavirus infection includes the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Swiss Confederation if they are mapped as red or grey by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Third countries (non-European Economic Area countries) are not included in the ECDC maps and therefore classified as grey, Exception applies in the case of countries which are included in the EU-level list of third countries, for the residents of which temporary restriction on non-essential travel to the EU should be lifted at external borders.

The list of affected countries be published every Friday to take effect on Monday.

Order of the Minister for Health regarding the list of affected countries is available HERE.
