Only French Mayotte in the orange (yellow) list after the update
From Monday, 6 December, Malta, and French Guiana will move from the orange (yellow) to the red category on the list of countries affected by coronavirus infections. The orange (yellow) category will now contain only French region Mayotte.
From 4 December, there will be changes in the self-isolation requirements for travellers. Arrivals from the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Zimbabwe will be required to self-isolate for 10 days, with no possibility of reducing the time of self-isolation. The arrivals will be subject to enhanced communicable disease control measures, and to mandatory self-isolation regardless of the status of the vaccination or recovery from COVID-19.
Arrivals from the above-mentioned countries in the South African region will not be allowed to leave the place of self-isolation except:
• to go or take a person who cannot take care of themselves to a medical facility for emergency aid (NPHC notification is not required);
• to go or take a person who cannot take care of themselves to a mobile point or a medical facility for COVID-19 tests (NPHC notification is not required);
• foreigners and citizens of the Republic of Lithuania living or working abroad, those who need to leave for health reasons, crew members, who are employed in companies engaged in international commercial transportation, or who carry out international commercial transportation by all types of vehicles, will be allowed to depart from the Republic of Lithuania to the country where they live, work or where health care will be provided before the lapse of the required period of self-isolation (the NPHC must be notified of the planned departure).
• As before, if a self-isolating individual must change the place of self-isolation for justified reasons, he must contact the NPHC for a permission to go to another place of self-isolation (permission can be issued only two times during the self-isolation period, only to go to a place of self-isolation).

The weekly list of affected countries is updated every Friday to take effect on the following Monday. According to the maps of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), countries fall into four colour categories that fall subject to specific requirements. Lithuania’s list of affected countries marks countries in a specific colour according to the colour of the most affected region in that country. Third countries that do not report to the ECDC fall into the grey category.

Children will also need to take two tests and to self-isolate regardless of their age or the result of the COVID-19 test. It is mandatory to take two PCR tests in Lithuania:

no self-isolation in the same house or apartment with other family members that are not part of the travelling party. In the case of self-isolation with the family, the family members will be required to stay in self-isolation for the same period of time

From 4 December 2021, arrivals from these countries to Lithuania will not be able to shorten their self-isolation, not even after two negative results of PCR tests taken in Lithuania. Those subject to self-isolation exemptions will have to restrict the number of their contacts for 14 days of arrival in Lithuania. It is recommended that working persons commute only between work and home if there is no possibility of working from home. As regards contacts with others, wearing protective equipment covering the nose and mouth: face masks, respirators or other means will remain mandatory, also the observance of other general instructions for the prevention of COVID-19. The self-isolation time can be reduced by taking a COVID-19 test (PCR) on the 7th day of self-isolation at the earliest, in a mobile point, or at personal expense and having a negative response thereof.
