Tighter requirements for mass events will help prevent coronavirus infection

The Government has approved a draft amendment to the Resolution declaring a state of national emergency submitted by the Ministry of the Interior, one of the main objectives of which is to change the principles for compiling the List of the Affected Countries approved by the Minister of Health.

Updated list of affected countries and isolation requirements

The list of affected countries was updated on Friday, 2 October, adding Kyrgyzstan. The coronavirus incidence rate in this country and other 95 countries exceeds 25 cases per 100 000 population in the last 14 days. Arrivals from or transits through these countries will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. The updated list will take effect as of 5 October.

As of Monday, isolation will be required for arrivals from Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, Georgia, Canada, Tunisia and the Faroe Islands, where the incidence of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has exceeded 25 cases per 100 000 population in the last 14 days.

Shorter isolation period for returnees or arrivals from abroad

People returning or arriving from the affected countries from now on will be required to stay in isolation for 10 instead of 14 days, if their test for coronavirus infection (COVID-19) performed no earlier than on the eighth day of isolation is negative.

Changes in methodology shorten the list of affected countries

As of Monday, isolation will no longer be required for arrivals from Germany, Sweden, Poland, Bulgaria, Norway, Iceland, Serbia and Liechtenstein. This has been made possible by raising the COVID-19 incidence rate threshold serving as the basis for drawing up the list of affected countries.
