Project “Implementation of youth-friendly health care services model in Vilnius city municipality” contract was signed

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania announces that on 7 September 2015 the trilateral Project “Implementation of youth-friendly health care services model in Vilnius city municipality” contract was signed.

Project partners – Vilnius city municipality public health bureau, Public institution Antakalnis polyclinics, Lithuanian Medical Students' Association (LiMSA), University Hospital of North Norway

Amount of grant assistance and co-financing is 79 359,23 Eur

Aim of the project – to improve the accessibility and quality of youth-friendly health care services (YFHCS) in Vilnius city municipality by implementing YFHCS provision model in accordance with the needs of Vilnius city municipality young people.

While implementing the project:

  • YFHCS coordinating center in Antakalnis polyclinics premises will be established;
  • YFHCS coordinating and case management function will be introducted and supported;
  • 4 Algorithms in priority areas of the YFHCS provision will be adapted and applied at the municipal level;
  • Youth health portal at municipal level will be administer (i. m. the latest and reliable information related to the health improvement will be prepared by experts and adapted for different target audiences (specialists and youth);
  • unique (without analogues in Lithuania) training programmes based on cognitive-behavioural therapy principles will be developed by the experts in this field from Lithuania and Norway. These programmes dedicated for the prevention of suicides, decreasing of negative impact to health of using psychoactive substances, integrated adolescent education about sexually transmitted diseases and early pregnancy prevention, dietary management and physical activity promotion will be published in Youth health portal. In these programmes audio and video records will be added. Youth and specialists will independently be able to use these programmes;
  • trainings for YFHCS providers will be organized. These trainings are important not only for the purposes of improving the qualification and competence of specialists but as well as for improving cross-sectoral cooperation of specialists in addressing youth health problems.
